"Life as it is. I've lived for over 40 years and I've seen... life as it is. Pain... Misery... Cruelty beyond belief. I've heard all the voices of God's noblest creature. Moans from bundles of filth in the streets. I've been a soldier and a slave. I've seen my comrades fall in battle or die more slowly under the lash in Africa. I've held them at the last moment. These were men who saw life... as it is. Yet they died despairing. No glory. No brave last words. Only their eyes... filled with confusion. Questioning 'why?'. I do not think they were asking why they were dying... but why they had ever lived. When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams, this may be madness. To seek treasure, where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness. And maddest of all: to see life as it is and not as it should be."
Miguel de Cervantes
Truth indeed rather alleviates than hurts,

"religion, therefore, as i now ask you arbitrarily to take it, shall mean for us the feelings, acts, and experiences of individual men in their solitude, so far as they apprehend themselves to stand in relation to whatever they may consider the divine. " /william james/
...
The true meaning of religion is thus not simply morality, but morality touched by emotion.

ma üritan nüüd uuesti kirjutama hakata.

do I want to speak of the miracle of our Lord's divine transformation? not really, no. I don't want to talk about his divinity. I'd rather talk about his humanity. I mean, you know, how he lived his life, here on Earth. His kindness, his tolerance... listen, here's what I think. I think that we can't go around... measuring our goodness by what we don't do. by what we deny ourselves, what we resist, and who we exclude. I think... we've got to measure goodness by what we embrace, what we create... and who we include.

kar wai wong "my blueberry nights"
film sõltuvustest. joodiklus, mängukirg, aga eelkõige sõltuvust teisest.
...
elizabeth: so what's wrong with the Blueberry Pie?
jeremy: there's nothing wrong with the Blueberry Pie, just people make other choices. you can't blame the Blueberry Pie, it's just... no one wants it.
elizabeth: wait! i want a piece.
...

kolm olulist raamatut viimasel ajal:
"aitaja vari"
"kuidas kohtuda inimesega?"
"siin ja praegu"
...

...
vaatasin üle ja üritasin tunnetada, millised filmid on mulle praegu olulised.
match point, shortbus, sügisball, hullumeelsus, возвращение, hotel rwanda, paris je t'aime, munich, butterfly effect, i heart huckabees, miehen työ, babel, brokeback mountain, scoop, instinct, y tu mamá también, love in the time of cholera, seven years in tibet, the thomas crown affair, meet joe black, the game, the silence of the lambs, entrapment, the cider house rules, wonder boys, sideways, p.s.

lyrics of grey blue eyes

i feel for the light
your glory was lost that night
and no mind can't get me right
and now I'm praying that you'll find me out
stone, stone has pulled me down
but my faith has got me bound to your grey blue eyes
oh, oh
oh, oh

don't forget my broken heart
you remember it from the start
you made it and it's all a part
of your grey blue eyes
oh, oh
oh, oh

you're gone and I know I'm dead
i've lost my way
can't find me in your grey blue eyes
grey blue eyes
grey blue eyes
grey blue eyes

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us,
with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke,
and a presumption that once our eyes watered.

Formerly, when religion was strong and science weak,
men mistook magic for medicine;
now, when science is strong and religion weak,
men mistake medicine for magic.

pole jälle mõnda aega kirjutanud.
teen võla tasa.
võlg kelle ees?
...
...
vaatasime leelega üks õhtu fotosid ning minu pildi peale näidates ütles ta "issi" sellise hästi susiseva s-iga.
...
vahepeal olen saanud üht-teist lugeda.

she says:

but that explanes only one part of it. why to choose a career where you can get even more hurt or where you are faced with your fears and troubles most of the time?

familiarity
she says:
we feel comfortable with what we know - even if it is painful

but that is self-destructive. yes, there is also development but also maso-tendencies

and you think that is healthy?
she says:

she says:

she says:
I know my job is the right one for me
she says:
but it has it's draw-backs of course
